I don’t agree with the negative review about this tripod, because the wrong size was chosen by the buyer. There are different sizes of Gorillapods for different sizes of cameras and lenses. This one is specified for smaller cameras, and for that purpose it works great (at least for me it does). My advice: before you buy andy Gorillapod, check on Joby’s website which one’s right for the type of camera and lens you have, and then you can come back to buy it cheaper @ Amazon. ;)

I originally got the smaller Joby tripod for my Sony digital camera(wx1), and returned it for this version. It was just too small for my needs. This is the perfect size to be able to carry with you wherever you go. It wraps around mostly anything, easy to stow, very stable, and made of high quality. The addition of the bubble level is great also. I really couldn’t ask for more.

I love this little guy! I take it with me everywhere I take my Nikon D5000! It’s a quick way to stabilize your camera in a hurry without lugging around a full size tripod.

The Gorillapod GP2 is an outstanding piece of photo equipment. In fact, it is the only other thing I need besides a digital camera. I use a Canon G11, I leave the little attachment bracket on the camera all the time so the tripod is just a click away. Essentially, the gorillapod turns every tree, stick, rock or piece of furniture into a full-feature tripod. I find myself using a tripod more this way and getting better photographs. The bubble level is a nice add for making sure the horizon is always straight.Canon PowerShot G11 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Stabilized Zoom and 2.8-inch articulating LCD

As long as you make sure you get the right Gorillapod for your particular camera, you should love it. I didn’t really want to spend this much money on a tripod, but now that I’ve been using it for a while I’m so glad I did.

I decided t get the GP2 because my camera is a bit heftier- it’s the Nikon P90 and I knew the GP1 wouldn’t be sturdy enough. The P90 isn’t an SLR, but it does weigh 460 grams (16.2 oz.) without the battery.

The camera screws on nicely to the Gorillapod and then I can maneuver it however I choose. It’s nice and sturdy and high-quality. It’s not small, but small enough for me to throw in my purse if I need it on the go.

I never realized the importance of a tripod until I got the Gorillapod; my photos are so much sharper now and I can get lots of different views.
